Acting Principal's Message

Dear Parents & Caregivers

Our new Kindergarten students have now been at school for nearly two weeks and have settled in beautifully. This Friday Kindergarten will join with their Year 4 ‘Buddies’ for their first assembly. All parents and caregivers are invited to come along and enjoy what the students have prepared for you.

As we are expecting quite a few parents to join us on Friday afternoon, we will be opening up the oval again for parking. Please note we cannot open the oval until the end of the lunch period at 1.45pm. We ask parents to enter the oval slowly and carefully, as students will still be about.

We also need to remind parents to please not park in the turning circle or in either of the staff carparks, down the lane towards the office or behind the Kindergarten/Stage One building.

We are still seeking the help of some parent helpers who have some time in the  morning (except Mondays) to return Library books to the Library shelves in preparation for Library borrowing to occur each day. One morning per week would be great or up to four mornings if you have the time. This will be done straight after the morning assembly. We are looking for 2-3 parents helpers for each morning. If you are able to assist please contact the School Office.

Coming up over the next few weeks are the open days for our local High Schools. These will be of interest to parents of Year 6 students, but also could be of interest to parents of students in Year 5, to assist your initial thinking about which High School to select for your child. We have received a flyer from John Therry, but please contact the other High Schools for information.

We are still having a small number of students arriving at school well before 8am. We understand that some parents may need to start work at an earlier time, but students should not be at school before 8am, as this is when supervision begins.

If you need supervision for your child before 8am, please contact Little Green Frogs, as they offer before school care and bring the students to school in time for their day to begin.

The Catholic Education Office has emailed your fee statements to you today.

Our school is now accepting enrolments for 2021. Please spread the word about our school to any friends and family. The new forms have arrived and ready to be collected from the front office. Completed enrolment forms are due Thursday, 9 April 2020.

On Monday of next week, I will be attending a Professional Learning day and we welcome Mrs Brenda Wilson to the school for the day.

Don’t forget that orders for the first Issue of Book Club close on Friday.
