Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week we have welcomed back to school approximately one third of our school each day for the past 3 days.  It was great to see so many happy and smiling faces returning to school for the day.  The children all seem a little taller since we last saw them.  At this stage we are unsure of the structure of the coming weeks, however for now we are continuing with the current arrangements of students attending school on their allocated day as well as attending school if needing to be supervised throughout the week.  Remote learning continues into Week 4 whether your child attends school or remains at home.  Thanks again to our wonderful staff for all that they are doing to ensure that learning continues at this time.

Thank you to all parents and carers for your cooperation with everything that has changed over the past few weeks, particularly with the new drop off and dismissal procedures.  These new procedures are in place to ensure the safety of all in our community.  It is extremely pleasing to see many Kindergarten and Year 1 students walking into the school playground on their own - they have grown up so much in the past weeks.

We encourage all students who are displaying flu-like symptoms to remain at home.  Any child who is feeling ill will be sent home immediately, again in the name of safety for our community.  It is great to note the majority of students in our school understand and practice social distancing with each other.

During these past few days our cleaning processes have been upscaled with two extra regular services now being utilized each day.  From Lunch 1 all toilets, student desks and high touch point areas in the school are being cleaned twice throughout the school day.  The regular school clean also occurs each evening.  Our school thanks the Catholic Education Office for providing the funds for the extra cleaning to occur each day.

We pray for each other and our world as we continue through this unprecedented time in our lives.

Just in case you missed this information in the last newsletter:

As per government recommendations, parents and caregivers are not permitted on the school property other than to drop off or pick up their children. If parents and caregivers are walking their children to and from school, they should not come past the last gate into the school.  A teacher is on Carlines duty from 8.00am each morning for you to drop your child off and everyone is encouraged to use the pick up zone in the afternoon.

We are currently in a transition phase between our Summer and Winter uniform. At the moment it does not matter as to which uniform your child is wearing when they attend school. Let us aim to be all in Winter uniform from Monday 25th May (Week 5).  Our Second Hand Uniform Shop has some stock.  If you need to purchase some clothing please email Mrs Sue Cameron (suemcam@hotmail.com) and she can hopefully fill your order.  The uniform can then be collected from the School Office.  All items cost $7.00.
