Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

SM_4_5_RUSE_OPEN_DAY.jpg
Catholic Schools Week marks the start of our student enrolment for 2023.  We are having an Open School where we invite all prospective families to come and visit our school to see what we have to offer.  If you know of any families interested in a great school please spread the word about our Open School on Monday 7th March 2022, 3.00pm-5.00pm.   Also if there are younger siblings who will be starting school in 2023, enrolment forms are now available online or from the School Office.

Catholic Schools Week is a time for us to give thanks for our school and to recognise all the wonderful opportunities that our Catholic School and all Catholic Schools can provide.

The Meet and Greet interviews for Kindergarten to Year 6 have been occurring this week.  Thanks to all parents and carers who have taken the opportunity to meet their children's class teacher via Zoom.  The purpose of these meetings is to discuss the factors which best help your child to learn.  We strive at St Thomas More School to work in partnership with parents and carers in catering for the needs of all students.

Covid-19 Update:  Please refer to the attached letter regarding the latest changes to directives.  Letter is dated 23 February 2022.

Thank you to all for your cooperation with adhering to all directives associated with Covid-19.  We truly appreciate your assistance in ensuring the safety of all in our community.

In line with recent announcements from the NSW Government, the rapid antigen test (RAT) program will end on Friday 25 February 2022. This means that the twice weekly testing using RAT kits is no longer in place. Thank you for your patience and cooperation over the last four weeks. While it has been a—sometimes unwelcome—addition to the already busy morning routine, proactive testing was a critical tool to keep our school community safe, especially while case numbers remained high in the broader community.

For the remainder of Term 1, families are asked to use RATs at your discretion when you consider it necessary (e.g. if a child develops symptoms or a family member is unwell). In the coming weeks, each student will be provided with a further eight RATs to be used for this purpose. We are currently awaiting the delivery of the additional RATs from the NSW Government and we will advise you of collection details as soon as we receive the delivery.

Congratulations to our 2022 Student Leaders.  They recently received their badges at our School Mass last week.  We look forward to them working with and supporting all members of the St Thomas More School community throughout 2022.
