Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to Term 2. I trust that you made the most of the beautiful weather, the many public holidays and the special opportunities to celebrate with family and friends during the recent holidays. As always Term 2 looks extremely busy with many opportunities being provided for everyone to be involved in the life of our school. Some of the events that will keep us all busy during Term 2 include: NAPLAN, the sacrament of Confirmation, Grandparents Day, St Thomas More feast day, School Athletics Carnival, Semester 1 Reports and Interviews. We look forward to all students working hard to achieve their goals in their learning.
A huge thank you to the parents who were able to join us on the last afternoon of Term 1 to participate in the Andrew Chinn liturgy and performance focussed on the events of Holy Week and Easter. We hope that all in our community have had the opportunity to stop and reflect on the events of Easter over the past few weeks.
St Thomas More School has remembered ANZAC Day 2019 through participation and attendance at the Campbelltown march and service as well as a liturgy held at school. Thank you to the 55 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 who represented our school on 25th April. The weather was beautiful and the children behaved reverently and respectfully in remembering all those who have fought and died for our country. Thank you to the many parents who presented their children for the march. Thank you to all students in our school who remembered and prayed for all service men and women who served our country.
Over the next couple of weeks our school will be conducting the official enrolment interviews for Kindergarten 2020. If you know of someone in our local community who may be considering enrolling their child in our school please encourage them to return their application to the school office as soon as possible so that an interview can be arranged. Once the interviews have been conducted, offers and letters of acceptance will be sent to families.
Best wishes for the coming week,
Philip Barrington
