A message from Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong
Thank you for joining our Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) schools across the Illawarra, Macarthur, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands, and Catholic school communities across NSW, in celebrating Catholic Schools Week for 2019. It's been a wonderful week of open days, activities, masses, liturgies and other special events - including the Diocesan Education Mass, which was a significant highlight of CSW. Read more about the Mass and listen to Director of Schools, Peter Turner's speech here.
Catholic Schools Week has showcased some of the fantastic things happening in our schools every day, and has very much highlighted our local Catholic schools - including yours! - as vibrant places of learning, faith, hope and opportunity. Thank you for your involvement.
We'd like to share with you our small Catholic Schools Week video that has been promoted throughout last week. Can you spot the students from your school in this video?
Harmony Day - Thursday, 21st March
Harmony Day: Thursday 21st March students can wear a splash of orange (hair bows, ribbons, socks) to acknowledge Harmony Day. Students still need to be in their uniform, just add a splash of orange.
Mufti Day Fete Fundraiser - Friday, 22nd March
Students can wear mufti clothes and bring a gold coin donation for the upcoming School Fete. As a reminder with mufti clothes students are to wear closed in shoes ( e.g. joggers) and appropriate clothing (no shoestring straps or short shorts, no inappropriate pictures or slogans on clothing).
School Cross Country - Friday, 29th March
Our Cross Country carnival will be held on Friday, 29th March 2019 taking place at school. All students will participate as this is an ordinary day of school. The Cross Country carnival will commence at 8:30am and finish close to 11:45am. The colour Fun Run will commence after the cross country.
All students are to wear their sports uniform with either the sports polo shirt or house colour T-Shirt (plain colour).
All Parents/Carers and Grandparents are welcome to attend the day as spectators. We are also seeking helpers to assist on the day around the track and start/finish line along with assisting the colour fun run. A reminder that all volunteers need to have completed a Working With Children Check declaration.
Should you be able to volunteer on the day, please notify the school office by email info@stmdow.catholic.edu.au or phone 4625 6561. We appreciate all Volunteers.
Our Book Fair is being held NOW to celebrate and acknowledge World Storytelling Day on 20th March.
The Book Fair will operate in our school until 26th March.
By purchasing from the Book Fair you are supporting the STM School Library - for every purchase, the school receives a commission to purchase more books - you might even considering purchasing a book and donating it directly to the Library. Mrs Santa Maria can assist you with this.
Parents can send in money marked clearly on an envelope OR pay online www.scholastic.com.au/payment (Be sure to choose Book Fairs payments, not Book Club).
Parents are welcome to pop into the Library to view and purchase the books any afternoon from Monday - Thursday from 2.40pm-3.30pm, until 26th March.
