Dear Parents and Carers,
St Thomas More Parents And Friends Association
2019 AGM
Monday 11th November 2019
School Hall
7.00pm
All parents and carers are welcome to attend
One of the parents in our school has taken the time to explain further the function and purpose of the St Thomas More Parents and Friends association…..
What is St Thomas More P&F?
The P&F stands for ‘Parents & Friends’ and is open to all parents and friends of the St Thomas More School community.
P&F meetings are a great place to find out what is happening in the school, gain a better understanding about school policies and activities, make a comment, raise a concern or ask a question. It’s also a great way to meet other parents in our school community.
At St Thomas More, the P&F and the school have a very close and positive relationship. The P&F is one avenue you may like to explore to support the school in making St Thomas More an even better place for your children and our students.
What does the P&F do?
– Promotes a positive learning and social environment;
– Acts as a liaison between the school and parents;
– Is a forum for parents to find out what is happening and what is planned for the school;
– Raises funds to provide services, facilities and equipment for the school;
– Supports school services including the Uniform Shop and pastoral care;
– Provides support and advice to the Principal and Executive team;
– Represents parents.
Who is involved in the P&F?
Any parent/carer is welcome to participate as a member of the P&F. Nominations take place annually at the P&F Annual General Meeting which will occur on Monday 11th November at 7pm.
All parents, staff and any other members of the school community are welcome to attend the meetings which takes place once or twice a term.
5 Things you need to know about the P&F
- Don’t worry we aren’t going to ask you to bake cookies but we may ask you to cook some snags.
- Being a part of the P&F is an easy way to connect with others in our community - we all love to have a few laughs and have fun.
- You can learn firsthand how the school operates and get to know some of the teachers and staff who are a vital part of the P&F.
- Don’t worry if you don’t have a lot of time, an hour or two a semester really makes a difference and helping out at 1or 2 events a year.
- You can help raise funds for a great cause - our kids education!
The positions available on the 2020 St Thomas More P&F Executive are :
President
Vice President
Treasurer
Secretary
Nomination forms are available from the school office.
If your child is not returning to St Thomas More Catholic Parish Primary School Ruse in 2020, could you please notify the School Office as soon as possible. There is a ‘School Leavers’ form that needs to be completed.
Our school staffroom is currently having a minor refurbishment. A staff study is being erected within the staffroom to create a professional work space for the staff separate from the common eating area. The works should be completed within the next two weeks. Our thanks to Campbelltown Catholic Club and Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong for funding this project.
Best wishes for the coming week,
Philip Barrington
