Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to all as we return to face to face learning and teaching. It was great to see the excited faces on Monday morning, displaying to everyone that we are all glad to be back at school and amongst friends. A huge thank you to all parents and carers who have changed and modified their routines to assist our school in remaining a safe place. A special thank you to those who have spent time explaining and discussing with their children some of the new changes to our school routine. In the aim of safety, parents are not permitted into the school playground before school. All families are encouraged to use the Carlines for pick up in the afternoon. We understand that parents may also need to park and collect their child. Our new dismissal process is allowing parents to walk into the playground to collect their child. It is most important that all parents and carers are to keep walking, do not stop and do not engage in conversation with others. The children know that when they see their parents/carers they are to come to you. Parents who may need to communicate with teachers are asked to make a phone call or send an email. Parents are not to stop and congregate in the school grounds at any time..
A reminder that all students who are displaying flu-like symptoms are to remain at home. Any child who is feeling ill will be sent home immediately, again in the name of safety for our community. It is great to note the majority of students in our school understand and practice social distancing with each other.
National Reconciliation Week is celebrated each year from 27th May to 3rd June. It is a time to celebrate and build on positive and respectful relationships and connections between Australians and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Reconciliation involves building positive, respectful relationships between all Australians and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It helps to create a positive change and to help Australians learn about their shared histories, cultures and achievements. Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders have faced many challenges and inequality over the years. These things have prevented them from reaching their potential. Being able to reconcile with them will lead to respect and better relationships and partnerships.
Dear Loving Lord, Creator of all,
you created us all in your own image,
one image - many colours,
one image - many cultures.
You made us come together like a rainbow,
separate parts but coming together in one creation.
Help us to see the beauty you have created
in each and every one of us.
Semester 1 Reports and Interviews are taking on a different format this year due to the recent pandemic and the fact that the majority of recent learning has been done remotely. Semester 1 reports for Years 1-6 are being sent home on Friday 19th June (Week 8). This will be followed by a parent/teacher teleconference during Week 9 and Week 10. Kindergarten do not receive a Semester 1 report but will be provided with an opportunity for a parent/teacher teleconference. This Interim Report reflects the Learning Engagement and Effort undertaken during classroom and remote learning over the course of Term 1 and mid-Term 2, 2020. The Key Learning Areas of Religious Education, English and Mathematics have been a key focus for many of the classroom and remote learning lessons delivered during Terms 1 and 2. Your child’s Semester 1 report will only reflect Religious Education, English and Mathematics. Details will be provided to you in the coming weeks so that you can book a time for a teleconference with your child’s class teacher.
