Dear Parents and Carers,
National Families Week is a time to celebrate with your family, make contact with your extended family and friends, and share in the enjoyment of family activities within the wider community. It is a time to celebrate the meaning of family and to make the most of family life. We give thanks for families. We hope and pray that all families and family members support each other through all experiences of life.
Over the coming weeks parents and carers will be invited to their child’s Term 2 grade liturgy. This is a great opportunity to come together as a praying community. These liturgies (except for the Year 1 liturgy planned for later in the term) will be conducted in the school hall on a Friday morning at 8.45am. Once the liturgy has concluded and the students have returned to class, parents are invited to stay for “Coffee and Conversation”. Mr Barrington and other staff staff members will speak briefly about the life of our school and parents can enjoy engaging with the school community. On Friday 13th May, Kindergarten and Year 4 parents and carers are invited to their child’s liturgy followed by Coffee and Conversation. On Friday 20th May Year 6 parents and carers are invited to their grade liturgy followed by Coffee and Conversation.
Thank you to the many parents and carers who were able to attend some of our school’s events over the past few weeks. We have waited a long time for opportunities such as these to invite parents and carers back into the school. Our Holy Week liturgy, Andrew Chinn concert and Mother's Day liturgy were all very special as we all gathered together in prayer and celebration as a community.
Since returning to school for Term 2 there are many in our school community coping with coughs, colds, flu and Covid-19. Thank you to those many parents who are keeping their sick children at home. We again encourage everyone in our community to maintain good hygienic practices to prevent the spread of such illness. A reminder that if your child tests Covid-positive on a RAT that you must isolate for seven days and also notify the school. If your child is a close contact they are entitled to come to school as long as they test negative on a daily RAT and have no symptoms.
Congratulations to the Polding Team (Blue House) on being announced the winners of the 2022 STM Cross Country Carnival. Congratulations to all children for their participation and also for their patience as the carnival was changed many times due to the wet weather.
Thank you to all the parent helpers for their assistance with the recent Mothers Day Stall. We trust that all children shopped wisely and that all mums were very pleased with their special gifts. Thanks to Mrs Ellis -Donai and all of the helpers for providing this service to the students.
