Dear Parents and Carers,
Only a couple more sleeps until the 2023 St Thomas More School Fete. Please refer to all correspondence and reminders that have been sent and are being sent out through Compass. The success of our Fete depends very much on all families in our community - those working on the day and those coming along to spend a few dollars at the Fete. A reminder that Friday is “Fruit Donation Day” where each family is asked to bring in fruit that will be cut and sold on Fete Day. Thank you to all families for their very kind donations over many weeks. We are all looking forward to seeing you on Sunday as this is a great event for our community.
Parent Survey
Each year St Thomas More School seeks feedback from parents and students through a variety of opportunities. This year a Parent Survey has been compiled where parents can provide feedback to the school in the areas of Faith, Learning, Communication, Wellbeing and Safety. There are 20 questions which will only take about 6-7 minutes in total to complete. Please access the following link to complete the survey. Survey closes Friday 11th August 2023. Your responses will remain confidential to the School’s Leadership Team and assists the school in our annual reflection of many school processes and procedures. Link to 2023 STM Parent Survey
Late to School
All parents and carers are reminded of the importance of being on time for school each day. Our school starts officially at 8.30am. Class rolls are taken as soon as classes enter their rooms to commence learning for the day. It is understandable that on the odd occasion something may occur to prevent you from being at school on time, however a regular late arrival is very disruptive to the learning of all classes. Last Thursday, 61 children were signed in late for school. Thank you to those students and families who are regularly on time for school, ready to learn from the beginning of the school day.
NAIDOC 2023
Thank you to all the students in our school who engaged in and learnt lots through the Koomurri incursion. A great day of learning and fun was had by all students.
Wakakirri
St Thomas More School’s Wakakirri performance day will soon be upon us. The Wakakirri Team have been very committed to all of the practices and organisation that is involved in being ready for the big performance. By way of providing opportunities for the Wakakirri Team to perform for an audience, we are holding a performance day at school. The Wakakirri Team will perform on Friday 11th August for Kindergarten to Year 2 and for Year 3 to Year 6. Then at 2.00pm the Wakakirri Team will perform for any parents who may wish to come along and see the performance. You do not have to have children in Wakakirri to come along to the parent performance. The actual performance item is only 7 minutes.
Campbelltown Catholic Club
Thank you to our school captains, Ella and Harrison, who accompanied me last Sunday and attended the Annual Communion Mass for the Campbelltown Catholic Club. Over many years the Campbelltown Catholic Club has supported our school and many schools in our local area. We say thank you to the Campbelltown Catholic Club for their continued support of St Thomas More School.
Best wishes for the coming week,
Philip Barrington
